Record Suspension (Pardon)
A record suspension, also known as a pardon, is the official sealing of criminal records by the government, making them inaccessible to the public. To begin this process, a certified criminal record check from the RCMP is necessary.
To obtain the certificate, you will need to schedule an appointment with us. During this appointment, our agent will take your fingerprints. If you require the final results to be sent directly to a third party, such as Pardons Canada or Pardon & Waiver Canada, this can be arranged after you complete a consent form during your visit.
Your fingerprints will be sent digitally to the RCMP and are typically received within one hour. Following this, you will receive a report confirming the completion of your fingerprints and the initiation of your criminal record check. We will also provide you with follow-up information and further instructions at that time. The original results of your record check are usually mailed to you or your designated third party within approximately one to two months.
